Grandpa's Old Truck

This is a watercolor I did a few years ago for my Grandpa - it's his 1949 Ford F-1 pickup, which he restored, with the help of my dad and uncle. This was one of my first attempts with watercolor pencils, and I was pleased with the results. They're fun to use- you can vary the texture and brightness a little easier with these than with standard watercolors, in my opinion.

Project Mailbox

My latest commission: a Precious Moments themed mailbox. :)
The picture is based on the Precious Moments sculpture, "Sealed With A Kiss".

Drawing from March 2011 :)

Hello! Since I have come back to the blogging world, I thought I would post some pics of my work over the past year. I didn't get to do as many drawing projects as I would've liked, since my artistic time has been devoted to cakes, mainly, last year. Here is one project I got to do, though: a show horse owned by a very kind gentleman who let me come and take pictures of his entire stable full, even leading each one out of their stalls and around an enclosure for me to get better shots. Hope you enjoy!

Some of my work from 2010. . .

One of my first attempts at soft pastels - they are so fun! I love the way they blend so smoothly!

This is"Legacy" - a beautiful, white Arabian stallion. He is nearing 30, which is really old for a horse, but he still acts quite young- still full of Arabian fire. This picture is also done with soft pastels.

A charcoal of one of my favorite Christian bands- I made this picture to give to them when I was going to see them in concert. I gave them the original, and they signed my copy of it! I also had another copy made...if anyone's interested, let me know.
